The Best Surprise of My Life…

Well this past Sunday (01.18.09) will be one that I remember for a VERY long time.

I woke up at the usual 5 something in the morning for rehearsal, etc. up at Southside and it was an incredible morning. Kinda funny how God seasoned the morning with its fair share of “un-produced” moments. Long story short we got to enjoy some special music that we arranged that morning and a really great message from Andy Stanley… until the power went out as he was closing in prayer. But Jeff Chandler came on and sang the closer without a PA and it was amazing. THEN in the 11:15 service we had what seemed to be mic issues to start the service with one of the longest instrumental intros to Salvation is Here you’ve ever heard while we tried to get the mics working. Problem was that the mics were fine… WE DIDN’T HAVE THE SUB-FADERS ON THE CONSOLE UP! Humorous now looking back, but quite the moment for Trey and I at FOH. Love ya buddy.

After church we had the privilege of celebrating my niece, Avery’s 4th birthday party at none other than Taco Bell. I don’t think that place has ever scene an entire family pack it in 20 deep for some chicken quesadillas before mmmmmm

Then it was off to Buckhead Church to run camera for the 6:00 service there. Great service with music from Chrystina Fincher and Andy continuing his 6 part series on finances called Balanced. Love some Andy, but I decided to dip out after my roaming camera duties were over and headed back south for Avery’s continuing festivities in Brooks, GA. Little did I know that the entire driveway would be PACKED with cars! This little lady draws quite the birthday crowd… or so I thought. Once inside I quickly found out the crowds were gathering to witness what I still believe to be a modern day miracle. Check the video out and you’ll know what I mean

Why Worry series concludes at Southside

 

This is another one of those series we won’t soon forget.  It couldn’t be more relevant to today’s economic and cultural situation.  Everybody seems to be worried about something and the bible has a lot to say about it.  GREAT SERIES TO START OF THE YEAR!  so here goes:

Part 1:

Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing – (Stevie Wonder) we did the John Legend version from Hitch and had a female vocalist perform the tune to open the series.  Denise did an AMAZING job with this song and her radiant smile couldn’t have been a more welcoming note to start the year off with at Southside.  Mitchell led us in some great worship afterwards and the message was awesome.  Happy New Year Southside Church!

Alright obviously I am biased to the music… don’t get me wrong, the messages in this series are INCREDIBLE, but Jeff Chandler and Clarissa Gibson NAILED the Remedy by Jason Mraz.  Awesome way to end the best series of 2009 so far
